As you may have noticed, I am not too good at organising people, or keeping track of who has offered to do what. And now that there is commercial interest in Streamer from at least two places it's time to get more organised and do things in a businesslike manner.

So I would like to form a Streamer team to handle the neccesary things like publicity/promotion, organisation/management, web design, client visual design, tech support, porting (linux/risc-os/mac), etc etc etc. Tasks being delegated to various people, not necesarrily all the tasks being done by the 'core' team, and the team having regular virtual meetings, live on IRC, or in forum messages. We will need to chose a time that's ok for people in several timezones for live meetings. Sometime later this week has been suggested for the first one.

An important thing I am looking for is for somebody else to handle the incoming contacts that I am usually rather slow in responding to, and someone doing a management-type role (but within reason, I don't like being 'managed' myself

Programming & management of other coders will mostly still be my task because I know how it works etc, programming by commitee creates micro$oft-style code.

Whoever gets involved needs to be able to do what they are volunteering for, and to stick with the task (mentioning no names).

We will arrange streamerp2p.com email addresses for the various ppl/tasks.

I'm really asking the streamer hardcore supporters here. You know who you are :-)

Hi Iain,

as I stated out in our e-mail contact, our Radioring project will continue supporting and promoting Streamer. As we plan to use Streamer in our hopefully-soon-to-come Portal, we would appreciate to work together along the streamer team. We can provide fundamental support over here, we have some really good, experienced guys in our group and whats the most important thing - we have plans and the possibilities to realize them.

In the last quarter of 2003 we formed an alliance of over 40 members, and with our licence-sharing-project we enable even low-budgeted small stations to stay on-net which increases our memberlist with new members nearly daily. As it looks like, we will make our 50th member just this month...
Most of them searching for an powerful and low-cost solution to provide their program to their listeners.

We will provide them with all they need - the possibility to broadcast, the powerful p2p-streaming-solution, the software they need and last but not least the help of our members, creating a community with a large amount of experience, a functional network of stations, which alltogether have the power to change things the better way for us webcasters.

All this together would make the Radioring a powerful companion over there in "the old europe" and we would be proud to accompany with the "team streamer" in the new challenges facing this project at this moment.

Greets to all of you,

Andreas Väth
