Hi, just wanted to make the StreamerP2P community aware of the FREE and OPEN streaming audio directory StreamFinder.com - you can list your stations and streams there for FREE and we get thousands of incoming searches for different genres every day.

We are trying to become a platform netural directory for all streaming audio - with searchable listings for those who want to listen to great audio. Most directories are tied to specific platforms - we welcome all streaming technologies.

And now we are aware of StreamerP2P and will integrate it into our platform.

You should have "Streamer" listed in you options drop down list ("Choose Stream Format:") on the page where I add/manage my listings. Please let me know when this is done and I'll add my stations.

It is now possible to access a Streamer p2p stream using a standard .pls file.

The user needs the winamp plugin, and your .pls file has a couple of extra lines that the winamp plugin will read. It passes this info to the real Streamer application on the users PC, which receives the stream and passes it to winamp to play.

If the user doesn't have the plugin the extra .pls lines get ignored, and winamp will drop through to the normal unicast url that is also in the .pls, and the stream plays directly to winamp by normal unicasting.

You have to provide a unicast source for the drop-through to work, and streamer can do the unicasting itself, no need for a shoutcast/etc server.

So you can transparently add streamer streams to listing sites that only accept .pls files, and have it integrate seamlessly as a hybrid unicast/p2p stream, where Streamer acts as a backup/overflow for the unicast stream, and the unicast stream acts as a backup to users without streamer/winamp plugin.
