Hi All,

I'm using Opticodec PC to encode a unicast stream to my SHOUTcast server. I would like to know if it's possible to relay that AAC+ stream also to StreamerP2P v.1.47 and/or to v2.06b?

Is anyone else used this Opticodec-PC AAC+ SHOUTcast encoder? I haven't be able to figure out which TCP Audio port or mount point it's using in order to relay it with Streamer.

Thank you for any information!

It's possible to relay aac+ streams with streamer. Just enter the full stream URL in the streamer broadcast config (Source: relay another unicast stream). Streamer connects like a client to your existing Shoutcast Stream and automaticly relays it.

stream url like: http://yourhost:8000/stream.aac

Your stream URL contains everything streamer needs to pick up your stream.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I know how to enter a stream to be relayed. What I can't figure out is the local stream address created by the Opticodec-PC encoder to relay it to Streamer.

How can I find out the port and stream.acc variables in "http://127.0.0.1:port/stream.aac"?

Thanks,

I don't know the opticodec URL. A encoder usually doesn't listen to incomming connection it makes a outgoing connection to the streamserver.

What i meant was this:

opticodec encoder --> shoutcast server --> streamerp2p

You know your shoutcast stream URL so you can tune streamer to shoutcast.

In edcast or shoutcast dsp you can setup multiple streams / bitrates maybe your opticodec encoder can do the same. I don't know this software.

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about looping my own feed (as you suggested) from the SHOUTcast server, but I figured that that would be a waste of bandwidth, something that could be avoided if I can tap Streamer directly to the encoder.

Currently I stream P2P a WMA audio since Windows Media Encoder is capable to listen to incoming connections. In both Streamer v2.06b P2P and SopCast P2P I relay my computer's loopback address on the encoder's TCP Audio Port "http://127.0.0.1:8785/". I wish I could do the same also with Opticodec AAC+ Encoder.

So due to this "limitation", essentially my Peercasting is WMA and Unicasting to my SOUTcast server in AAC+.
