Does the bitrate creep up or jump up in one go?, because if it jumps up it looks like the 'bitrate doubling' bug I thought I'd fixed.

Speaking for myself, the bitrate was creeping up from 80k to 155 and 166k over a period of minutes - 15 to 20 minutes.

I've been running one server since upgrading last night to 1.43 at mp3PRO 64k 44kHz Stereo and another at mp3PRO 18k 32kHz LC Stereo. I haven't seen the bitrate go over 71 on the 64k or 21 on the 18k.

I'm changing my broadband server over to mp3PRO 80k 44kHz Stereo right now to check it out.

I'll report back here if there's any weirdness.

I have a few other things to report in a day or two. These aren't things that are preventing me from brodcasting so they're not a huge priority for me but I'm sure it's stuff you'll want to know.

Thanks for the help. :)

Mine still jumps up from lets say i put it at 80k mp3 it will go up to 100k and then down to 90k then back to 80k.It keeps jumping up and down alot.It goes high in one jump when you first start streamer to broadcast then it takes a while for it to go back down again.

It never stays steady at all. With AAC Plus it will jump up a few from lets say 32k up to 35k and then it will go down again back to normal for a while.

It only does that when i use streamer, but when i use shoutcast to broadcast the bitrate will never move it will stay at what i set it at and not jump at all like streamer does.

Streamer is measuring the actual bitrate coming from the dsp, and with some VBR formats it will vary. When you are using shoutcast which doesn't vary, where are you reading these constant bitrates from?, from shoutcast itself or the encoder. It could be that shoutcast is simply not measuring these variations.

You Know to be 100% honest I couldnt tell ya, I was not watching it 100% of the time, But every minute or so as I glanced at it I noticed a big difference , the worst was it was at 67K and a minute or two later was at like 113K

but AFTER my post here It was slowly creeping up from like 60K to 80K then would stable off, and byt the evening had stopped doing it.

I hate problems that appear and then seem to fix themselves, tells me There Might still be a problem.
I did not stream last night at all,
I will check later today on the stability,
and as far as encoding, 75% of my tracks are encoded 192CBR i stay clear of VBR tracks using ODDCAST...

thanks guys for your help.

the constant bitrates are coming from both streamer and the encoders.
As of this post it is going up and down right now.It only does this with streamer it is very wierd.
