Iain is working on a Listener version of streamer (more player like)

I think we all have to help him and the other STREAMER programmers the idea is, why don't we all try to create a design for a player?
It will be easier and faster for all to have soon a release of this version !
Plz contribute to grow STREAMER !!
A player will help us all boradcaster to grow the community

Whatever it will look like - the answer will be KISS
Keep it simple, stupid...

I recomend to use a windows system GUI - not a bitmap-Interface because I know some blind ppl who are using a screenreader.
It will be a good thing to keep Streamer compatible to this from the beginning.

just a suggestion... :D

Hi,

try this, first try for the Streamer player,
Don't be rude Im not a pro designer, just trying to help ;)
Let me know what u think of it
I think the design must be simple and friendly
Most of the "Broadcaster" options will be hidden in the "MENU & CONFIGURATION" buttons.
Some buttons will open sub menus

U will see it as it will be for real (size etc..)

One of the problems with mp3 playback is licencing. There is a fee for making an mp3 player. What you propose could however be done wtih ogg streams for no licensing fees.

I think U right, since using OGG is free instead of mp3
but i am only proposing design all the programming ****** is not my part :)
i'm not a programmer, only a Broadcaster who wants to get more pple with a friendly interface player in order to receive the STREAMER radio stations without seeing the broadcaster options wich will be hidden in the MENU button and I think will be a availableonly by entering the broadcaster pass and log in
btw, U did told me your opinion on the design.. ;)

It's a good place to start. There has already been some attampt at using another Java player and having it tie into a streamer engine. FreedomAudio is what it's called.

Ahhhh...but I am not in the USA :-) and the euro parliament has just rejected software patents, despite pressure from Big Money. US software patents do not apply in Europe.

I like the FreedomAudio player. I've been using it on my site for about 24 months now and it's pretty good. It can be customized with any type of skin, embedded into web pages, etc.. But I'm not too sure if it can hook into streamer. I'll bet Iain can make it work if he has a big enough hammer :D
